In the summer of 23, we attended the summer of Design summer design hosted by Mr. he Jianping and his team in Hangzhou. This is an unforgettable summer day and a wonderful time for us old birds to wash again.

Lecturer Anna Kulachek, as an international graphic designer, has not only left his footprint on the stage of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, but also joined hands with international brands such as Nike, Apple, CalvinKlein and Prada to push design aesthetics to a new height. Her works, like bridges, connect different cultures and aesthetics, showing the charm of design without national boundaries. We are very fortunate to listen to and learn from her wonderful sharing.

At the height of summer, the city of Hangzhou is hot, such as our enthusiasm. Our theme is around "model", which is a very important point in the basic elements of graphic design, that is, "Tool". The design around tool is more original and symbolic, and we have formed a certain inertia thinking over the years in commercial design, while in DS, we have to break and reshape and reorganize the original style and experience to zero. That's the value of coming here.

I chose "cicada" as the theme, because the meaning of cicada in summer is the same as when we come to Design summer-"shelling". To change the past, this is the rhythm that designers need to pursue constantly, no matter what stage and age you are, you have to keep it fresh. There are designers from all over the world, there are no national boundaries, we use graphics and text dialogue, in-depth and connected.

The above group is a series of so-called "habitual thinking" graphic works I created after entering this topic. He brought my creative habits into DS, but this is not what we want, because the key to "tool" is to collect all the details and trivial things in life, and those seemingly casual daily moments or objects can be the source of design inspiration.
So breaking the cicada became my next task-this cicada was mercilessly "dismembered", I admit, I did not play the mechanism of tool to the extreme. As a result, I created the second batch of works.
This group of works is named "the rebirth of the cicada" by me, it uses the most minimalist totem and gradual color block to write the whole process of the cicada from the soil to the tree, and then to the shell flapping its wings and flying high, this is a long life for the cicada, but for us in DS, it is a short and precious change.

Near the end of the class, Anna gave me a lot of encouragement and wanted me to try more possibilities, this is the purpose of this trip, otherwise it has been created in the previous habitual cognition. I need a breakthrough like this. So two days later, I created the following poster, this bright use of color also makes me happy, although there are still shortcomings, but I see a different change, I think this may be the real meaning of "cicada".

Finally, thank you for this wave of time, thank you DS. We are still in love with design.
